The short version
- The app has no accounts and no sign-in.
- We do not advertise to you, track you between apps or websites, or sell anything about you.
- The only personal information the app sends us is what you type into the "Request help or book a meeting" form, and only when you press send.
- That form arrives with us as an email. The app does not keep a copy, and neither does the server behind it.
What the app collects
Reading guides, the glossary and the question tools. Nothing about you. The app downloads the same content everyone else gets, and works through it on your device. Your answers to the question tools stay on your phone and are never sent to us.
Asking a question. The assistant in the app is a fixed script, not a live service. What you type stays on your device.
Requesting help or booking a meeting. When you press send, we receive:
- your name;
- your email address and phone number, if you give them;
- the topics you chose and your answers to the short questions on the form.
We use it to reply to you and to prepare for the conversation you have asked for. Our lawful basis is that this is what you have asked us to do: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Please do not include health or medical details in the form. We do not ask for them, and we would rather discuss anything of that sort with you in person.
Technical information. Like any app that downloads something, your device connects to our content service and to our enquiry service. Those services keep short-lived technical logs, which can include an IP address, for security and to keep the service running. They are not used to build a profile of you.
Who else is involved
- Laravel Cloud hosts the software, in London, on Amazon Web Services.
- Cloudflare serves the app's content files from its network.
- Brevo sends your enquiry from the app's service to our inbox. It is based in France and keeps the data in the European Union.
- Microsoft 365 holds our email, including your enquiry once it reaches us. It is run for us by our IT provider.
- Apple and Google distribute the app. They have their own privacy policies, and we do not receive personal information from them about you.
We do not sell or share your information for marketing.
Where your information is held
The software runs in the United Kingdom (London). Our email and everyday business systems may be hosted in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, or in countries with appropriate safeguards in place.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only while we deal with it. Once we have answered you and your enquiry is handled, we delete it, along with any notes we made from it.
If you decide to go ahead and work with us, we keep what you sent us as part of your client file. Financial services rules then require us to keep client records for a set period, and we explain that when you become a client.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it — see the data deletion page;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or someone else in a portable form.
Write to us at office@wattmoney.com and we will reply within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
The app is written for adults and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
